The begining

I have relaxed hair and it's been 3 1/2 months since (June) I have gotten my last perm. I am not sure if I want to go natural or continue to get perms but stretch them 6 months at a time. I am very much undecided on what  to do. But for now I will be just doing a protective style every four weeks to keep my hands out of my hair. And not a  lot of heat. I have a short hair cut where it was tapered in the back short on the sides and a little length on top.

Hair length before my first month of protective styles (before September 15)

Back average                 2.5 inches
Right side average.       2.5 inches
Left side average.          2.0 inches
Middle average.             4.0 inches
Front average.                4.0 inches

I am wearing box braids as my protective style of the month. I am trying to keep my hands out of my hair for a month at a time.from September 15 to October 15 I would be wearing box braids. I did the rubber band method.  (  you put the rubber band on first then attach the  hair ) I in the beginning likes this method less frizzy more neat. Until it began to grow. You have new growth then a rubber band and your har grow straight up so moving it from side to side made the hair pull and then began to hurt. So today I have decided to take them out because im not sure if it a lot of stress on the hair or not. I also think my edges have been pulling out due to the rubber bands. So please if you choose the rubber band method to do any of your braids or twist please be careful.  Its all about finding what works on your own hair. This may work and be fine on someone else's hair but for me NO. So I am six days short of a month. So I think for the next 6 days I will be leaving the rubber bands but the is nothing weighing on them to pull. And I will be doing the GHE (green house effect) to keep it moist and complete the four weeks of doing nothing to my hair.
