Two weeks six days

So I am a little disappointed in myself because I am so ready to take these crochet braids out and its only been two weeks and two days. I wanted to keep them for four weeks but I think that is going to be out, since thanksgiving is in the forth week of may hair due, and you know I cant go no where with my hair looking like that. I also have to let my hair breath for a week before putting it away again. So  will be taking this hair out on the 19th which which is a tuesday and exactly three weeks.
Yes I did wash my crochet braids. I seen that a lot of people dont like to wash them but I did and nothing happened.  I shampooed and I deep conditioned. I let it sit for and hour and then rinsed it out and let it air dry, which took forever.  I then did a leave in and moisturized my scalp with olive oil mango butter and sealed with my hair oil mix.

This what my hair looks like. I can say I am almost at an inch of new growth.  Yah me. I am going to do the inversion method my last week of the four weeks. Today will be the last day of these braids and I am ready for them to. I like them but I love to change my hair styles on a regular.

Pre poo

Ok since I will be taking my braids out tomorrow I decided to do a hot oil treatment / pre poo on my hair. I am going to be leaving it in over night and then I am going to add some conditioner tomorrow while I take them out to try and not have so much breakage. This is my first time trying this so I dont know how easy it will make this process.

I used 100% pure coconut oil, for this treatment

I then took my shower cap and my scarfs and put on my head for bed.

Has any one did a hot oil pre poo before? I hope these braids dont take a long time to take out.

30 day AB challenge

As you can see from the title I am doing an AB challenge.  I am 8 months post baby, March 19, 2013. I can not seem to lose any of this baby weight. So I am going to try and finish this out.

Day 1

15 sit ups
5 crunches
5 leg lifts
10 second planks

And yes I did it all I hope I will finish this

This is the begining

I am a little under 150 pounds. My goal is to lose 10 pounds. I like my weight but I am not to same size I was befor baby, and now nothing fits. And my gut it off the hook so I need to nip this in the bud right now. I plan on going to Miami 2014 summer so I need to get right.

I also did running,  I havent ran in like a month and when I first started I was about die I end up stopping for like 2-3 minutes,  and stated again. I use to try and do 300 calories a run but today I could not hang but I will try agin tomorrow.

Any one wants to try this with me? I am excited to see how it goes.  And I hope I can keep it up.

Up coming protective styles

Ok the fall/winter season I will be doing braided protective styles.  So from September- February I will be doing protective styles. I will be doing 3/4weeks of each style and one week to breathe in between each style to give my hair a breather.

Here are a few I will like to try

  • Human hair crochet braids
  • Marly twist crochet braids
  • kanekalon crochet braids
  • Water wave crochet braids
  • Yarn braids

       Sooooo far

  • September/October - box braids
  • October/November- crochet braids (bohemian curl)
  • November/December-
  • December/January-
  • January/February-

Please help with what I should do next. Im going to Disney world in December,  and my birthday is in January.  So I have to pick which would suit whats going on. I just bought the human hair for the braids and I am so excited to try it. I have all the hair for all the styles except the which I am going to get soon. I think buying all the hair in advance makes it so much harder to choose. HELP MEEEEEE ?

1 week and 3 days crochet braids

This about the second day
I am so in love with the crochet braids. I have been wearing then a different style about every other day. My plan is to take them out on November 26. Im not sure if I can last that long I like my hair styles to look fresh everyday. I can say I have grown about 1/4 inch of new growth in about a week. (super excited) my goal is to retain 1 inch a month.

This is what I gained in 1 week and 3 days

another way I have been wearing my hair

Crochet braids (bohemian curl)

$5.99 a pack
october 29
I did crochet braids using freetress bohemian curl. 2 packs of hair one pack was a 1 and the second pack was a 4/30 which o didnt mean to het I wanted a 1/30.

Step 1 : I took the hair and cut it in half.
Step 2 : I also separated each strand of hair in two        using water.
Step 3 : I braided my hair ( 10 little braids in the front, and connected two braids to make one in the back so 5 in the back)

Step 4 : you begin to latch hook the hair into each braid ( you dont have to put them so close together in the back)
SN: in the back I like to alternate the side in which I put the latch hook in. I would put the opening in on the right first then on the next I would put the opening in on the left. Also you should start putting them  closer together at the top with the smaller braids.
Step 5 : trim some of the frizzy ends from separating the hair, or cutting some bangs or what not and you are done
One pack did the whole back of my head, I took one half of the pack and filled in two and a half cornrows with the hair so that ican make sure the hair was distributed evenly.

This is just half of one pack. I used the other half on the other side

The begining

I have relaxed hair and it's been 3 1/2 months since (June) I have gotten my last perm. I am not sure if I want to go natural or continue to get perms but stretch them 6 months at a time. I am very much undecided on what  to do. But for now I will be just doing a protective style every four weeks to keep my hands out of my hair. And not a  lot of heat. I have a short hair cut where it was tapered in the back short on the sides and a little length on top.

Hair length before my first month of protective styles (before September 15)

Back average                 2.5 inches
Right side average.       2.5 inches
Left side average.          2.0 inches
Middle average.             4.0 inches
Front average.                4.0 inches

Pic 1 first week of hair cut (april 2013)

Pic 2 a month after that (may 2013)

Pic 3 a month after that (June 2013)

I am wearing box braids as my protective style of the month. I am trying to keep my hands out of my hair for a month at a time.from September 15 to October 15 I would be wearing box braids. I did the rubber band method.  (  you put the rubber band on first then attach the  hair ) I in the beginning likes this method less frizzy more neat. Until it began to grow. You have new growth then a rubber band and your har grow straight up so moving it from side to side made the hair pull and then began to hurt. So today I have decided to take them out because im not sure if it a lot of stress on the hair or not. I also think my edges have been pulling out due to the rubber bands. So please if you choose the rubber band method to do any of your braids or twist please be careful.  Its all about finding what works on your own hair. This may work and be fine on someone else's hair but for me NO. So I am six days short of a month. So I think for the next 6 days I will be leaving the rubber bands but the is nothing weighing on them to pull. And I will be doing the GHE (green house effect) to keep it moist and complete the four weeks of doing nothing to my hair.
